Synopsis

José de los Santos (70) lives in a town on the Pacific coast of Colombia. From a young age he learned the arts of mortuary rituals inherited from his ancestors, former African slaves. He accompanies the dead on their way to eternal rest. One day the soul of his son PIUM PIUM - who was violently murdered - announces his death, warning him that he should not die near his home, and above all, he should die in peace. José de los Santos begins a journey through the jungle to look for a place to die, defying the curfew imposed by the illegal armed groups fighting over the territory. He must survive the weapons so as not to join the souls in purgatory.
